About Us
First Step Pediatrics is a family-owned pediatric practice in the heart of Hamilton Heights focused on preventative care and community building. For the past 15 years, our goal has been to deliver exceptional service, valuable resources and education to our patients and parents. Our intention is to provide a safe space for genuine interaction, with the aim to optimize the health of our patients.
PROVIDERS:
Dr. Maria M. Molina obtained her degree of Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) in 1990. In 1999 she earned her degree in pediatrics from Mount Sinai Medical School, after which she worked as an assistant attending for both Elmhurst and New York Presbyterian Hospitals. She has since served her community for 20+ years, opening First Step Pediatrics in Hamilton Heights in 2004 and in 2013, a second practice called First Step Medical in the Bronx. She is passionate about educating parents, emphasizing the importance of preventive measures to keep children healthy.

Natalie Almonte, CPNP-PC obtained her nurse practitioner degree at Columbia University. She’s been at First Step Pediatrics for over 2 years and loves the community she serves. She enjoys getting to know her patients and providing preventive care to both well and sick children. She is passionate about educating patients and parents how to be healthy highlighting proper nutrition and an active lifestyle.

Elizabeth Garcia, CPNP-PC, obtained a MD Degree at Dominican Republic over 35 years ago, and a nurse practitioner degree at Columbia University in 2008. She has since served her community for over 12 years, working in SBHC for 8 years and in Urgent Care over 2 years. She’s been at First Step Pediatrics for almost a decade and enjoys taking care of patients, with enthusiasm and compassion, making her patients feel very comfortable. Educating parents and children and focusing on preventive medicine are her priorities.
